Summary & Review

“I think writing this series has put me more in touch with my own queerness,” – Pallas Gutierrez

Pallas Gutierrez is a columnist studying theatre at Northwestern University. Currently, they are writing the series “50 Years of Queer Anger.” The series, written in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots this summer, discusses the history and ongoing issues of the queer community in the United States. Pallas works to balance history with modernity and complex topics with a straightforward approach. Their work challenges the status quo of the overwhelmingly cisgender heterosexual newsrooms—including the Daily’s.

You can read their series “50 Years of Queer Anger,” as well as other work here.
